 TGS launches new subsidiary in Mexico:
Trans-Global de Mexico, SA de CV

Trans-Global Solutions, Inc. (TGS) of Houston, Texas announces formation of a new subsidiary, Trans-Global Solutions de Mexico. TGS is a global provider of bulk material services. The company designs, engineers, fabricates, erects and operates bulk material facilities, including complete rail services.

Headquartered in Monterey, N.L. the new subsidiary was established in February of 2000. Mr. Dan Orsini is Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Joseph Lopez is in charge of Manufacturing and Engineering and Mr. Ron Smith is leading Sales and Marketing. Trans-Global Solutions de Mexico has appointed Mr. Hans Rubke of Hansa Enterprises of Puebla, Mexico sales representative for Mexico.

The initial project for Tran-Global Solutions de Mexico is at Cadereyta, NL. for Cementos de Mexico (Cemex). The new company will provide a coke and coal distribution terminal capable of receiving of petroleum coke from the PEMEX refinery at Cadereyta by means of truck haulage - approximately 9 kilometers from refinery to terminal. The petroleum coke will be weighed by truck scale and stockpiled at the site. The petroleum coke will be weighed and loaded into rail cars or trucks by the conveyor system.

Coal will be received by rail, unloaded, weighed by belt scale, and stockpiled at the terminal. Trucks will be loaded from the stockpile by front-end loader and weighed by truck scale before leaving terminal In order to provide a complete distribution terminal, the entire project will consist of rail improvements, conveyor systems, belt and truck scales, dust suppression and fire protection systems, and an office and maintenance building.

TGS has traded in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean for many years, both at a corporate level and through its operating division, TGS/Engineering and Conveying Systems. Experience in Mexico, Latin and South America includes:

  • An overland conveying and shiploading system in Baja, Mexico
  • A conveyor system for a cement plant in Vera Cruz
  • An overland conveying and stockpiling system at the Carbon 2 power plant for CFE in Piedras Negras
  • Projects in Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad, and Jamaica.

TGS also operates petroleum coke terminals, a wood chip terminal, a rail-to-ship soda ash loading system and public bulk terminals, all located on the Gulf Coast of the U.S. Additionally the company operates petroleum coke handling facilities within several large U.S. refineries. All of these facilities were designed, engineered, fabricated and constructed by TGS. The company operates all of these facilities under long-term operating agreements.

TGS, through its rail division, TGS/Econo-Rail operates several rail storage and classification yards as well as providing turnkey, in-plant switching services to numerous industrial customers in the U.S. The rail division provides trained personnel, locomotives, track design, rail construction and maintenance. TGS also offers complete railcar and locomotive repair, service and leasing.

The formation of Trans-Global Solutions de Mexico is another step for Trans-Global Solutions, Inc. in expanding its influence and experience into the global marketplace.
